Atlanta, Ga. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Apotheos FC will join USL League Two beginning in the 2025 season.
The club was formed in 2021, competing in other pre-professional leagues and creating a nationally competitive program ahead of their move to League Two.
Their mission is to use the power of sport to give back to their local community with local partners and create a fan-friendly environment at every game.
"We are extremely excited to be joining USL League Two in 2025,” Anthony Catalano, Apotheos FC Founder and Managing Partner, said. “The opportunity to join a league with an incredible history in the sport of soccer in this country allows us to continue to grow our club at the minor league level here in Atlanta. This decision to move to USL League Two provides our players, our coaches and supporters with great soccer on the field and meaningful community connection off the field. Our vision as a company is to use common platforms like the beautiful game of soccer and coffee to lift our communities to be Bolder, Brighter, Better Together!”
Apotheos FC will compete in the South Central Division in 2025 and will play its home games at Silverbacks Park Stadium, Atlanta’s first soccer-specific stadium.
Current Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Ryan Schewe can trace his roots to Apotheos FC, and the club helps to develop more local talent that can build professional careers for themselves in the future.
“Apotheos FC has everything that you would want when you’re looking for an expansion group,” Joel Nash, USL Senior Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, said. “They put their community first, they know how to make a real impact, and they’re always looking to get better. They’re an incredibly exciting group, they play at a great venue, and we can’t wait to see them take the pitch.”
